Charcoal and Watercolor Experiment

I spent a little more time on the drawing on this one, and just used the water color as an accent. This model has such striking features I really love her face. I know I was breaking the rules by using charcoal pencil with watercolor but I'm pleased with the results. I was going to flesh it out with more paint but I kinda like the looseness of this painting the way it is.

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I've been busy with finals and a little traveling. Anyway here is an experiment I was working on. This is a technique using transparent water color for the shadows and building up the highlights with more opaque colors. I think it implies a certain amount of volume. More of this to come.
