The all seeing eye.

I finally saw Fahrenheit 9/11. It was pretty spooky stuff... I mean I remember yelling at my television every time one of the events explored in this film took place. I remember thinking, "how can they get away with this stuff!" and "Am I the only one who sees how insane this is?!?!" But to see them all put together in one movie was pretty overwhelming. I just can't help but be discouraged at the prospect of fighting that much money... that much power. How can a voice like mine be heard? The power of money... that's what I've been thinking about... Oh... and well... I've also been playing "The Legend of Zelda, The Wind Waker" so maybe that is why I have triangles on my mind. This is another done during my breaks at work drawing.

Here you go... a Cocker Spaniel...

Somebody left a book on Cocker Spaniels out at work so I thought I would draw y'all one to make up for the last couple posts... Ah isn't he sweet... honestly... who doesn't love a Cocker Spaniel... Sure they are inbred to the point of mental disorder but they're just so darned cute! I drew this in about 30 minutes total... Two ten minute breaks at work and another ten cleaning it up at home.

More character design

Another attempt at sad Paris. Don't worry friends... I'm not all that stressed out... not any more than usual anyway... I do like this comic idea though... I mean, who wouldn't want a venue to voice their complaints... I’ve got some funny ideas…we'll see where it goes.

I've been a little stressed lately... you know life stuff, work, school, money, whatever. Anyway blah blah blah... days like this I start to wake up wondering why I exist... what's it all about? Etcetera... So anyway I started thinking that my depressed rants might make a fun comic strip... or at least it's a way to deal with my demons. So here is a quick character design. I figure a despondent looking caricature of myself would be a convenient way to vent. I did this on my lunch break.

At my work customers can assemble there own frames using our facilities. Since it is too dangerous to give them anything sharp we provide them with sandpaper blocks to trim extra paper off the back of their frames. Folks seem to have trouble understanding how this works so I decided to create some visual instructions for the back of the sandpaper block.

A moist pile of Bull...frog

(ink on paper)

I should change the name of this site to lunch break drawings... Why a frog? I wanted something more multifunctional than a fish... Also my seaman has reached the tadman stage. (That's not as bad as it sounds.) I was looking for a shiny slimy kind of look but if I don't give the marker ink time to dry it tends to bleed. So I lost some of the sharp lines I intended... plus I was a little rushed. Eh... it'll do.

Awe... it's not so bad...

Another quickie... I had a few extra minutes on my lunch break because I brought a sandwich with me. The soundtrack to "Amelie" was playing in the store. If you haven't seen this movie, do yourself a favor and see it. Seriously, I don’t care what kind of miserable grump you are, it will make you feel great. Anyway, this wasn't really supposed to look like Amelie but it was more of an Amelie inspired image. On a side note: I've noticed that I really work pretty hard at my new job. I definitely put in more effort than my old job, I think it's because I like it more. Even though the pessimistic paranoid side of me is afraid this is what I will be doing for the rest of my life...It's a pretty cool place work.

This is a little drawing I did at work on the back of a scrap piece of mat board. Since I'm back at work full time my drawings might look a little like they were done up real quick on a 10 minute break... because... well... that's probably how it happened. So my new job can be kinda boring sometimes... other times, totally overwhelming... it's a nice place to work, but it's... well... work. I wish I could get more excited about it...I mean...I like it and all, but... I feel like I'm supposed to feel lucky to have full time work but... It's still just a joe job, you know. Oh well... I can't wait till the time when I can feel lucky about having a new job because it's like this really amazingly good job. Something I can do that really feels like a good use of my time.
